What they say about us....
William Byrd: A Portrait
Ingatestone Hall, June 2023
“…congratulations on an excellent concert…”
“What a wonderful evening. It was a delightful programme with all customary care and balance and such beautiful singing and playing.”
“We so enjoyed the concert last weekend. It was lovely to hear Essex Voices and Chelys Consort after hearing so much about both groups. It was obvious that the programme had been carefully researched and curated - and it was beautifully performed. Hearing the music in its original setting was moving, and the sense of history - palpable.”
“Thank you…for an enjoyable evening. I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.”

O Clap Your Hands...
Great Waltham Church, 12th June 2021
"Everyone had precious special moments in the performance, the viols were an inspirational group to work with. All the audience I met on the way back to the car either signalled great enjoyment 👍or pulled over and said how much they had enjoyed it! Many people commented favourably on The Cries- it was a great piece to end with."
"It was a lovely concert! Your voices and the viols blended really well."
"excellent concert"........"a carefully chosen varied programme"........"Essex Voices were a joy to listen to."
Songs of the Season
Concert for Friends of Essex Churches Trust, February 2016
"The concert really was outstanding. The feedback from the several I talked to was excellent. I hugely enjoyed it all. The Allegri was really special and a treat to listen to, especially with the spatial separation you arranged. Very well worth doing that as it was really effective. A fab evening - thanks."
Waltham in the Spring
Great Waltham Church, May 2015
During one of the Stewardship Campaign gatherings last autumn, Caroline asked those attending to give some thought as to what they could do to help the Church and its finances. Annabel and Gerald Malton offered to do a free concert in the church and for all the proceeds to be given to the church. This they did on Saturday May 16th. It was a wonderful concert performed by 8 singers from Annabel’s “Essex Voices” entitled “Waltham in the Spring." with music through the ages plus a short organ recital and a piano ragtime duet. Not only was the concert put on for free but all the wine sold in the Interval was also donated by the Maltons. Their generosity at last week’s concert resulted in£1,002 being raised for church funds. We are indebted to the Maltons for their generosity. Keith Derry
